Currently working on my first book. It's a social commentary on the current political landscape of the United States, the financial system, rampant biases, social injustices, humor, and copious amounts of satire.

The Morose Girl from Toronto: Diary of a Twenty-Something Hermit

Good title, but at this point, just an idea. This is novel will be based of an acquaintance of mine and my encounters with her.

SHORT STORIES:

-Life of Caroline
-Homicide of a Homeless Man

Collective Biographies of Chicago's Commonplace People
6.23.10
While waiting for my typewriter to arrive I decided to give novels a rest and practice with some short stories. Today I started one. It is a collective biography of mundane Chicagoans whose lives interlock in curious ways. Kensington Schumer is a 26 year old accountant and my protagonist. He cheated his way through Northwestern University and is a terrible Mathematician. Ironic right? My antagonist is Detective Sergeant Mark Roman of the Illinois State Police. He loves triathlons and hates anything that doesn't follow the status quo. I am currently constructing my other characters. They include an attractive female bartender who is currently nameless. Eventually Roman cheats on his wife with her, and this takes him down a couple self-righteous pegs. My other under-construction character is Delilah Sims, an over-achieving high school student who helps Kensington finally find some integrity. He eventually quits his job and confesses to plagiary, intentionally making his existing degree obsolete. Kensington is forced to enroll in a community college, but doesn't care because for the first time in his life he is going to earn something.
